Description
Description
A 100% Himalayan cashmere hoodie, hand-combed from Chyangra (Changthangi) goats and knitted by artisans in Nepal — NPIA-certified for authenticity. Elevated everyday comfort, warm without the bulk.
The Pinnacle of Casual Luxury.
The Lumusae Original Zip-Up redefines the casual staple. This is not just a hoodie; it is a substantial, protective investment piece designed for the man who refuses to compromise on comfort. It offers a rare balance of density and drape—far superior to the thin, mass-market layers that lose their soul after a single season.
Nomadic Luxury Designed for the modern nomad, this hoodie is engineered to be your personal sanctuary. Whether you are navigating the chill of an airport terminal or settling into an evening by the fire, the 2-ply construction provides a reassuring "heft." It is naturally warm, a reassuring companion through long-haul flights and weekend escapes.
Artisanal Architecture Rejecting the shortcuts of mass production, each hoodie is hand-finished by master artisans in Nepal. The precise 12-gauge tension creates a structured, polished look that refuses to sag. It is soft enough to be worn directly against the skin, yet substantial enough to hold its own as a sharp outer layer over a button-down shirt.
Why It’s Your Ultimate Travel Companion:
- Protective Density: The 2-ply twisted yarn construction creates a deep, insulating warmth that traps body heat effectively without ever feeling bulky.
- Seamless Versatility: Equipped with a premium metal zipper for effortless layering.
- NPIA Certified Purity: 100% pure Chyangra cashmere, never blended with synthetics. This is ethical luxury in its most honest, durable form.
- Travel-Ready Resilience: The 2-ply twisted-yarn construction is built to last through years of daily wear, mile after mile.

- Wearing over a shirt without disturbing it
Weight: Graceful ~375 grams
The ~375g weight delivers surprising warmth in a lightweight form—perfect for those seeking refined comfort without heaviness in milder conditions.
Softness: Ultra-fine 16-micron fibers
15-micron fibers are extraordinarily rare and represent the pinnacle of luxury, creating an almost silk-like softness against your skin (for comparison, human hair is about 75 microns).
Perfect for: Spring and autumn days, business casual settings, travel-friendly packing, and elegant layering. Ideal for those who appreciate the finest quality fibers in a versatile Hoodie that transitions effortlessly from day to evening.

Cashmere is a fine animal hair, not a hard-wearing wool. It responds to cool water and gentle handling, and almost all damage comes from heat and agitation rather than from wearing it. Treated properly, a piece lasts years rather than seasons.

How do I wash cashmere?
By hand is best. Fill a basin with cool water — no warmer than about 30°C / 86°F — and add a capful of a mild wool or cashmere detergent. Submerge the piece and press it gently under the water for two or three minutes. Do not rub, wring or twist. Rinse in cool water of the same temperature until the water runs clear.
By machine, only if the cycle is genuinely gentle. A wool or delicate cycle works if it stays cool and spins slowly. Turn the piece inside out, put it in a mesh laundry bag, and use a low or no spin setting.
The one thing to avoid is thermal shock. Hot water, a sudden change in temperature, or vigorous agitation causes the fibres to lock together permanently. That is felting, and it cannot be reversed. For the same reason, skip bleach, fabric softener and the tumble dryer.
How do I dry cashmere?
Press the water out between two towels rather than wringing. Reshape the piece while it is damp, then lay it flat on a dry towel away from radiators, direct heat and strong sunlight. Never hang a wet knit — the weight of the water pulls the shoulders and body out of shape as it dries.
Why is my cashmere pilling, and how do I fix it?
Pilling is friction, not a fault or a sign of poor quality. It appears wherever the garment rubs against something — under the arms, along a seatbelt, where a bag strap sits. It is most noticeable in the first few wears and settles down after that.
Lay the piece flat and remove pills with a cashmere comb or a fabric shaver, working lightly in one direction. Do not pull them off by hand, which drags the surrounding fibres.
How should I store cashmere?
Fold it; never hang it. Hanging stretches the shoulders over time.
Always store it clean. Moths are drawn to skin oils, perspiration and food traces rather than to the fibre itself, so a piece put away unwashed is far more vulnerable than a clean one. Use a breathable cotton bag with cedar or lavender, and avoid airtight plastic, which traps moisture.
Do I need to wash it after every wear?
No, and you shouldn't. Cashmere benefits from resting between wears — give it a day to recover its shape. Airing it usually does more than washing, and a small mark is better spot-cleaned than put through a full wash.
Is dry cleaning safe?
Yes, and it is a good option for structured pieces or stubborn marks. Choose a cleaner who handles cashmere regularly. Most pieces do not need it often; hand washing at home is gentler and perfectly adequate for routine care.
Care for shawls and wraps
Handwoven shawls are finer than knitwear and prefer hand washing. Do not iron directly on the fabric — if a piece needs pressing, use a cool iron under a cloth, or hang it in a steamy bathroom and let the creases drop out. Fringes can be combed straight with your fingers while damp.

Softer than clouds! I'm officially addicted to Lumusae cashmere.
Received the Kora hoodie as a gift and immediately understood why it's called 'quiet luxury.' There's nothing loud or showy about it — just extraordinary Himalayan cashmere in a clean zip hoodie silhouette that makes you feel exceptional without trying. The wine red is my absolute favourite colour.
I bought this for myself as a 'big birthday' treat and it was absolutely the right decision. The pure Himalayan cashmere in the off-white colour is breathtakingly beautiful and the heavyweight zip hoodie is warm, soft, and refined. I feel genuinely special wearing this. Worth every penny.
Gifted the Kora hoodie to my brother and he sent a voice message to say it was the best thing he'd ever been given. He said the cashmere is 'unbelievably soft' and that he's worn it every day since it arrived. The black colour is sleek and refined. A perfect gift.
I bought the heather gray and it's the most used piece of clothing I own. The heavyweight Himalayan cashmere is extraordinary — warm, soft, and with a beautiful drape. The zip hoodie silhouette is versatile and modern. This is quiet luxury done exactly right. I could not recommend it more.
