It Begins With the Fibre
High in Upper Mustang, the Chyangra goat grows a fine undercoat to survive winters that reach −40°C. Each spring it is gently combed out by hand — never sheared — and only the finest fibres, around 16 microns, are kept for Lumusae.
Linked by Hand, Stitch by Stitch
In our Kathmandu workshop, every panel is knit and then linked by hand — an artisan guiding the knit onto the linking machine one stitch at a time. It is slow, skilled work, and it is why our seams sit soft and flat against the skin.
Held to the Light
Before a piece leaves us, it is held up to the daylight and checked — the weave read for evenness, the finish for any flaw. Only then is it folded, wrapped, and sent to you with its Certificate of Authenticity.
