Description

A 100% pure Himalayan cashmere pashmina shawl, hand-combed from Chyangra (Changthangi) goats and handwoven by artisans in Nepal — NPIA-certified for authenticity. A featherweight wrap that carries from travel to evening.

The cloud you wrap yourself in. The warmth that travels with you.

There is a kind of luxury that doesn't announce itself. It's felt — literally — the moment you slide this shawl around your shoulders.

It starts in Nepal's high-altitude valleys, where Changra goats endure temperatures of -40°C. The cold isn't a hardship for them. It's what makes them extraordinary. To survive it, their bodies grow one of the finest, softest fibers on Earth — just 16 microns wide, thinner than a human hair. Each spring, Nepali farming families hand-comb those fibers — never cut, never rushed — the same way their parents did, and their parents before them.

Those fibers travel to the hands of artisan weavers in Kathmandu's valley, where they are hand-knitted into a base fabric. Then comes the step that makes this shawl unlike anything else you've touched.

The felting.

Through careful heat and pressure, the fibers lock together into a dense, matte, cloud-like surface — a natural halo that traps warmth without adding weight. It just gets more beautiful with every year you wear it.

This is what 16-micron cashmere actually feels like. Not a marketing claim. A physical reality your hands will confirm the moment you open the box.

This is for you if you want one thing that goes everywhere.

Drape it over your shoulders on a long-haul flight and land feeling rested, not rumpled. Wrap it around you during your morning meditation and feel the difference between synthetic comfort and something genuinely natural. Layer it over a silk dress when the evening turns cool and have everyone ask where it's from.

At 28×84 inches, it covers you completely. It folds into your carry-on in seconds. It does the work of a travel blanket, an evening wrap, and a meditation shawl — without being any one thing exclusively.

One thing you won't find on most cashmere listings: proof.

In a market full of blended imitations sold under luxury prices, Lumusae carries NPIA certification — the Nepal Pashmina Industry Association's independent guarantee of authentic Himalayan cashmere. Every piece is tested and verified before it leaves Nepal. You're not trusting a label. You're trusting an independent body that exists for exactly this reason.

The edges are hand-rolled. The border is finished with a delicate tassel. The colors are drawn from natural dye palettes — rich, multi-dimensional, and designed to deepen over time, not fade.

Handcrafted in limited quantities. Each piece is finished individually — no two are exactly alike.

Wrap yourself in something real. You'll feel the difference immediately.

Pairs well with: Heritage Red & Mulberry Cashmere Pashmina Shawl and Signature Neutral & Pattern Cashmere Pashmina Shawl. New to cashmere? See how to wear a pashmina.
