How do I care for my pashmina?

• Hand wash gently with mild detergent or shampoo in cold water.

• Never wring or twist; gently press water out.

• Lay flat to dry, away from direct sunlight.

Is your pashmina ethically sourced?

Yes. Our pashminas are ethically sourced directly from communities in the Upper Mustang region, supporting local artisans, traditional craftsmanship, and fair compensation.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express), PayPal, Apple Pay, and Google Pay.

How can I track my order?

Once your order ships, you’ll receive an email containing a tracking number. Use this number on our website's tracking page or the courier’s official site to follow your delivery.

How long will my order take to arrive?

Every piece is made to order in Kathmandu, so allow 5–7 business days for production and 5–7 business days for delivery — roughly 10–14 business days in total. Express shipping is available at extra cost; email us before you order.

Where do you ship, and how much is shipping?

We ship worldwide. Orders of $125 or more ship free; below that, shipping is a flat $12. All orders are tracked and insured, and we choose the carrier per destination from DHL, FedEx, UPS and SF Express.

Will I have to pay customs or import duties?

No. Every order ships delivered-duty-paid, which means we pay the import duties, customs charges and tariffs before the parcel reaches you. There is nothing to pay on delivery — the price at checkout is the price you pay.

Can I return or exchange something?

Yes. You have 30 days from delivery to start a return. If an order is delivered to the UK or EU you also have a legal right to cancel within 14 days of delivery. If a fault is genuinely ours, we send a prepaid label and refund you in full.

Is it really 100% cashmere?

Yes. Every Lumusae piece is 100% Himalayan cashmere — no wool blend, no filler. The fibre measures around 16 microns, hand-combed from Chyangra goats in Mustang and worked in Nepal.

How do I know my piece is authentic?

Every garment carries a unique certificate number you can check yourself. Enter it on our certificate verification page and it will confirm the piece against our records.

What is the difference between cashmere and pashmina?

They are the same fibre. “Pashmina” is the regional name used across Kashmir and Nepal for cashmere from Himalayan goats — traditionally its finest grade. It is a place-name, not a different material.

What does “undyed” mean?

Part of our range is left in the fibre’s own natural colour, with no dyeing or bleaching step at all — the greys, browns and creams are the shades the goats actually grew. The rest of the range is dyed as normal.

Why is my cashmere pilling?

Pilling is friction, not a fault. It shows up wherever the garment rubs — under the arms, along a seatbelt, where a bag strap sits — and settles down after the first few wears. Lay the piece flat and lift the pills with a cashmere comb. Full care instructions here.

Which size should I choose?

Most knitwear runs XXS to XXL; shawls, wraps, capes, ponchos, beanies and headbands are one size. Our size guide lists the measurements of every garment laid flat, with a diagram showing exactly where each one is taken.

Do you sell wholesale?

Yes. We supply independent boutiques worldwide from our own workshop in Kathmandu, with a low minimum order. See our wholesale page for terms and to request rates.
