Subash Bhattarai

Subash Bhattarai is the founder of Lumusae, a Nepal-based house specialising in undyed, pure Himalayan cashmere.

Working directly with herding communities and artisan knitters across Nepal, Subash oversees Lumusae's craft end to end — from hand-combing Chyangra (Changthangi) goat fibre in the Himalaya to handweaving and hand-knitting each finished piece. His focus is simple: cashmere in its most honest form — Grade-A, roughly 16-micron fibre left in its natural colour, with no added dyes or bleaches, and independently NPIA-certified for authenticity.

He writes the Lumusae journal to help people understand what they are really buying — how to tell genuine cashmere from imitations, why undyed fibre matters, and how to care for cashmere so it lasts for years.
